Paul Rosenburg Said...

Postby Man1x » Mar 17th, '12, 17:24

He said after that announcement of the SXSW performance that their would be more "announcements" soon. What do you think that these announcements will be and when do you think they will be announced? I personally think they are starting up a promotion campaign, and if they are doing what I suspect we will be hearing from them very soon to keep the hype going for Shady 2.0. However, a side of me is scared because Shady Records got so worked up over such a small venue, and they make it seem like it was a large hassle to put together when in actuality it's below the amount of work they should be doing. Not to take anything away from that performance, Eminem and Slaughterhouse were amazing through all of their performances and 50 Cent was amazing except for a few mistakes, but Shady Record's staff seems a little lazy and not inclined to do much after this show. Do you think that there will be more of these shows, on a bigger scale, coming in the near future on TV stations where everyone who will watch will tune in and take notice?

Edit: Also, I'm glad to see that 50 Cent is associating himself with the Shady 2.0 movement but I don't know how engaged he is with his other label members. I mean Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf seem very close, a feeling I don't get between 50 Cent and them. I mean 50 Cent claims to be part of the 2.0 movement, but he hasn't really ever associated himself with Slaughterhouse or Yelawolf. I swear sometimes it feels like they are on a different label than 50 Cent. Another question, do you think 50 Cent has ever met Yelawolf in real life? I mean he's obviously met Slaughterhouse now that they were at his show but Yelawolf wasn't so I feel it's a valid question. Last side note, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf seem really tight. I mean Slaughterhouse are constantly talking to him and are constantly checking up on him over his ruptured spleen to see how he's doing. Oh, and it bugged me that Eminem didn't shout out the 2.0 boys or invite them on TV for the air time they had.

^I would like a Shady 2.0 LP.
But it would be cool if they blended more together than the Re-Up. Maybe like a "Shady Supergroup" where each song features random members from Shady Records, intsead of just a couple of songs each by the individual groups/artist.

But shows aren't game changers, if that's what Paul Rosenberg thinks. So unless he has more up his XXL sleeve, then he shouldn't ranting and raving about changing the game.

Haha, i laughed at the XXL sleeves.

well, the argument could be that even though these people are all technically under shady, they are managed differently. For example, Bad Meets Evil seemed to have little to no interaction with Interscope while Yelawolf's Radioactive was under Get-O-vision. Eminem is still signed to Aftermath and the Slaughterhouse deal hasnt been completely explained. So, yes, its possible that they are not close because the name is slapped on everything managed by different people.

Here's the tweet in question:

Paul Rosenberg ‏ @bunyan71 Close
Of course you all can't BE THERE. But we made sure you wont be left out. More announcements soon! #shadysxsw

And they are all signed to Shady Records except Eminem? An artist can be signed to more than one label so I don't get where your coming from. Point is Interscope/Shady has the promotional control over these artists. Slaughterhouse is signed to only Interscope/Shady now, Yelawolf is Gheto-Visison/Interscope/Shady but Shady is in control more than Gheto at this point because they are the bigger label and have more resources. Gheto-Visison is probably only there because Yelawolf feels grateful toward them for getting him his start. 50 Cent is Interscope/Aftermath/Shady, D12 is Interscope/Shady, and Bad Meets Evil never had to ink a deal (why would they have too?) but they release off of Interscope/Shady. So it's far to say they are control managed by Interscope/Shady, have the same boss, and are on the same label. Some are just on more than one label but Interscope/Shady has the ultimate say over these artists, kinda stupid to think otherwise.

There would only be one announcement I really care about, and that would be news of Em's next solo work.

I'm hoping for a 2.0 Album and Tour, that's what I want above all things. THEN an Eminem album. He needs to help his label get big first
