TTT (Two Topic Thread): Dissing Em?/No more music.

Postby Blu » Mar 26th, '12, 23:02

Yes, I just coined a new term: TTT (Two Topic Thread), but that's beyond the point.

The first subject I wanna discuss is why no other artist is dissing Eminem. He's in such a terrible state right now, that all of his music is turning out mediocre, and dissing him would actually be a GOOD thing for him. From the crappy "Throw It Up" verse to the terrible "Richard" verse, why has no artist bothered to finally call him out for this bullshit? We need music disses, not internet disses.

Which brings me to my second topic: Em SHOULN'T release another album. Let's face it, Eminem's music is based on his life, well, his good music. Now, some of you may be thinking how masterpieces like "Stan" or "Lose Yourself" have nothing to do with his life, when in reality they do. "Stan" is a perfect example of how fans can really affect celebrities lives with the crazy actions they commit. "Lose Yourself" is basically Em's life put in Rabbit's perspective. So in short, Eminem's ruining his legacy, his music won't get better, and now he's just "having fun" (which is STILL bad). If he's not going to take the art seriously, then retire Em. :coffee:

And for those of you who are saying that no one bothers to beef with Em because he'll squash 'em instantly, SINCE HE IS THE DA GOAT MC, what evidence do you have? What proof to you have? "The Warning"? That was against Mariah, not a notable MC that could actually retaliate.

And no, I'm not trolling. God, I swear every time someone has a differing opinion on this website people instantly pull the trolling card. :facepalm

He didn't take a few features seriously, doesn't mean he wouldn't take an album seriously. He was having to write under THEIR concepts, THEIR rules. On Richard, no one should be surprised he rapped about being a dick. That's the fucking song was about, and I feel like bashing bitches is Em's comfort zone. Always has been.

As far as dissing Em I'd like some big rappers to diss him so he could just come up with something like The Warning. I'm sure he could.

On SSLP he told STORIES. Like he's doing now...not quite up to that caliber but he's trying to.

Okay, brace yourself people for a long winded post, starting now:

1. No good artist disses Eminem because he would fucking murder them. To be fair, the same argument could be made 6 or 7 years ago, when he was beefing with the likes of Whitey Ford and Benzino. But it mostly has to do with the state of Hip Hop. It's changed a lot since Em was beefing, and it's to the point where it's just these rappers putting on phony ass smiles and praising every turd laid on a track. There's a few rappers out there who genuinely speak their minds, but most don't. That's partially the reason he doesn't recieve any beefs. Also, Em's track record for beefing is fantastic. It would be okay to think that after he had the whole drug binge that he wouldn't be capable of composing a decent beef track. But then we heard The Warning, and it hit as hard as any record he made. Em's at his best when beefing. Even at the beginning of his drug problems, he was still shitting on Benzino. I think Em could still bring a fucking nasty beef track, and I think a lot of the Hip Hop world does as well.

2. I actually semi-agree with this. I'm on the record as saying that Em should not release another solo album, but if he did, I'd eagerly await it. Basically, I don't think he should, but I want another one. I think that Recovery is the perfect place for him to step back and start helping build back the Shady brand. Yela is just getting started, Slaughterhouse is releasing their first Shady album soon, and I'm sure there will be more signing to come. That being said, I don't think the reason he shouldn't release another album is due to skill. If you doubt that he can still bring it, go listen to the cypher again. I'm not going to use the excuse of him being on collabs being the reason he is releasing sub-par verses (though I like Richard, and kind of enjoy Throw It Up). If he isn't fully into a track, he shouldn't accept it. If he didn't like Throw It Up but didn't want to turn Yela down, just hop on another track. I appreciate him experimenting, but sometimes these experiments need to stay in the lab and be perfected before being released. I mean, he releases like one fucking verse every, what, 5 or 6 months. They should be perfect. If Em sat down to compose another album, full of his choice of beats and with his choice of subject, I think it would be great. I honestly do, but at some point he will have to take a backseat. "When your run is over just admit when it's at it's end."

More than likely Eminem is composing an album now, and it's probably going to be another really good album. He's obviously not the same guy, but he can definitely still rap his ass off if he takes the time to perfect it. Which I think is funny and ironic, considering how some interview recently said he is a perfectionist and works on not every line, but every syllable, or something like that. It kind of makes you wonder, just a little bit. That being said, I'm still a huge Em fan and will always eagerly await his next move in the music industry.

Alright blu, man, I respect you, but if this is an honest thread then you're just full of crap.

We all know, Eminem hasn't had much beefs with big names. So what? Know why? The big names have a reputation to keep, and respect him. SEVERAL big names have said, and I quote, "Don't fuck with the white dude". That's a fact.

About Eminem releasing verses with no content lately. Who says he can't just play around between releases? Who are YOU to tell him it's a mistake to release two fun verses between your multi-million dollar well received albums? Why is no artist calling him out?--Because he's just having fun. And everyone knows it. Think of it as keeping himself warmed up between album production--he records for fun, messes around, rhymes, etc etc.

So you say, he shouldn't release an album. Your reasoning being because his music is based on his life, yada yada, blah here blah there, he doesn't have stuff to talk about, yada yada. Sure, he's not a trouble making youth anymore. But what does this make of Relapse? Odds are you're one of the hipsters that say Relapse is cool because it isn't Recovery. Was it based on his life? NOPE.

Then, you got people calling you out about your bi-polarness over Eminem's recent releases. So you post Criminal and Not Afraid and use that comparison to defend yourself. Uh, HELLO? Those are ten fricken years apart, after a drug binge and a seconds-from-death situation. I wouldn't blame him if he rapped about jacking off to My Little Pony after that. (Okay, I would, but you get the point.) So, that's invalid.

People don't diss Em because forget the fact that he "might" reply and they get shitted on, but even if the best rappers went and tried to diss him, they'd lose all credibility and respect from their fanbase. Do you know how many people are Em fans nowadays? More so than any other rapper in history, which is why he's sold the most out of any hip hop artist. He's the most well-known. If any rapper were to diss him, without a response, their fans would turn on them for dissing Em and make them lose credibility from their fans.

Therefore, it hurts their careers to even attempt at it. For instance, Hopsin: disses tons of rappers and references them all the time, yet still has a reasonably large fan base because people support him. Ever seen him even mention Em in a song? My point exactly: his whole fanbase would turn on him if he did. It just makes no sense to even try it because it only hurts you in the long run.

"You always thought that I was so stupid to write rhymes
Thinking I would never make it and lose with the white eyes
But this formula I created proved I was Einstein
Now I've done more shit than you'd ever do in your lifetime." - Hopsin

Are you bipolar? I swear, you see that there's a post by you saying you love something then a few days later you fucking hate it.

Just because I enjoy the "Richard" verse doesn't necessarily mean I think it's GOOD. Just like how some people can't enjoy The Marshall Mathers LP, but they can't deny that it's a solid album.
InsaneTRex94 wrote:And one more thing, most of the SSLP was NOT based off his real life, are you saying that's not good then?

The tracks that WERE based on his real life, really stood out: "'97 Bonnie and Clyde", "Rock Bottom", "Role Model", "If I Had", "Brain Damage".
