Okay, brace yourself people for a long winded post, starting now:
1. No good artist disses Eminem because he would fucking murder them. To be fair, the same argument could be made 6 or 7 years ago, when he was beefing with the likes of Whitey Ford and Benzino. But it mostly has to do with the state of Hip Hop. It's changed a lot since Em was beefing, and it's to the point where it's just these rappers putting on phony ass smiles and praising every turd laid on a track. There's a few rappers out there who genuinely speak their minds, but most don't. That's partially the reason he doesn't recieve any beefs. Also, Em's track record for beefing is fantastic. It would be okay to think that after he had the whole drug binge that he wouldn't be capable of composing a decent beef track. But then we heard The Warning, and it hit as hard as any record he made. Em's at his best when beefing. Even at the beginning of his drug problems, he was still shitting on Benzino. I think Em could still bring a fucking nasty beef track, and I think a lot of the Hip Hop world does as well.
2. I actually semi-agree with this. I'm on the record as saying that Em should not release another solo album, but if he did, I'd eagerly await it. Basically, I don't think he should, but I want another one. I think that Recovery is the perfect place for him to step back and start helping build back the Shady brand. Yela is just getting started, Slaughterhouse is releasing their first Shady album soon, and I'm sure there will be more signing to come. That being said, I don't think the reason he shouldn't release another album is due to skill. If you doubt that he can still bring it, go listen to the cypher again. I'm not going to use the excuse of him being on collabs being the reason he is releasing sub-par verses (though I like Richard, and kind of enjoy Throw It Up). If he isn't fully into a track, he shouldn't accept it. If he didn't like Throw It Up but didn't want to turn Yela down, just hop on another track. I appreciate him experimenting, but sometimes these experiments need to stay in the lab and be perfected before being released. I mean, he releases like one fucking verse every, what, 5 or 6 months. They should be perfect. If Em sat down to compose another album, full of his choice of beats and with his choice of subject, I think it would be great. I honestly do, but at some point he will have to take a backseat. "When your run is over just admit when it's at it's end."
More than likely Eminem is composing an album now, and it's probably going to be another really good album. He's obviously not the same guy, but he can definitely still rap his ass off if he takes the time to perfect it. Which I think is funny and ironic, considering how some interview recently said he is a perfectionist and works on not every line, but every syllable, or something like that. It kind of makes you wonder, just a little bit. That being said, I'm still a huge Em fan and will always eagerly await his next move in the music industry.
