Almost anyone who got cheated on thought at one point or another about killing the person who cheated on them.

Well, using your celebrity status to humiliate your ex in front of the whole world could be described as a morality issue. It's a disgusting song, really.
Norway, blah, blah, murder, blah, blah, blood.

That's actually a great point.

The question is whether or not it was a song meant to humiliate. That's where the problem lies. If the intent of the song was to humiliate, then it was petty and disgusting. If it was a raw representation of his feelings, and both a representation of love and hate, then it's just a work of art that has the potential of offend and/or humiliate.

Personally, I believe the latter to be the case.

It is the latter. I'm not foing to type it up right now, but in Nick Hasted's book Em explains his reasons for making Kim. I could put it up in a few hours if the OP would find it useful.

Though didn't Em cheat on Kim at some point as well? I read quite a bit about it in Shady Bizzness.

^ That. Kim was never meant to humiliate her. It was just what he was feeling at the time and apparently whatever she did made him incredibly angry. The song shows how much he loves her by how hurt he was. Never meant to humiliate her.

Oh, I think he was trying to humiliate her, which is understandable, actually. He was clearly very hurt and he wanted revenge, to humiliate her and to make her feel bad. When a person hurts you, you just want to hurt her back, that's how it goes. I always thought 'Kim' was a hypocritical song. I mean, Em did to her exactly what she did to him. Not only he cheated on her first, but he continued doing it with a bunch of groupies and still shitting on her publicly. She never really got to say her side of the story and when she did, in those couple of interviews, no one believed her anyway and I really believe Em was doing the same things she was doing, so he was trying to get back at her with that song.

I think Em will always love her because at the end of the day, she's his longtime friend and the mother of his kid but I think they are way too dysfunctional and damaged to make it work like a normal couple. When it rains, it pours. But who knows.

I did also read an article when Em said he was inspired to write a love song, but he didn't want to sound like a bitch saying 'baby come back, I love you' so this was his way of showing how much he needed her. Em always seemed to me like one of those guys who think it's okay when they have something on the side every once in a while but God forbid if his wife only looks at other guys.

I was trying to say with that sentence, LoL, that I think it's logical he'll always love her because she was such a huge part of his life, but he doesn't necessarily need to be IN love with her. I don't know, I never saw that line as in a romantic way, more as in... like he gave her some kind of closure, like he was apologizing for everything, even for 'Kim', saying how he knows it was his fault also.
