You'd think so. But I guess they take the risk that it won't go to OT to save having to write a fourth round of specific material. Because if it doesn't go there then they have a round of material that they'll never use. I am suprised that more generic writtens weren't used when overtime was still about, though.

They've pretty much got rid of overtime in the written leagues now for that reason.

Sauras v Illmac and Sauras vs Real Deal are great examples of having amazing material prepared in case of an OT. In bigger battles, that are likely to be close, the top battlers usually are prepared for it

I remember hearing that when Cruger (UK battler) battled Illusion-Z, he had an OT prepared but it didn't go there so he just spat it to a small crowd when the cameras were off. It must feel like a waste though.

Sometimes they do promo rounds on camera as well, if they both have OT prepared (Cruger vs Jack Shitt, for eg).

Watch Illmac's and Sauras in the KOTD doubles tournament last year. They were unbelievable. Got robbed in the final but they just obliterated everyone.

Also, does anyone into battling here watch the UK scene? It's full of a lot of terrible generic mum-joke rappers, but has got some gems. Cruger is a personal favourite. He went to America, destroyed Illusion-Z and beat Charron in Canada. His battle with Enlish (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r6aOkMzUds) is probably my favourite UK on UK battle.

Biggest douches on the scene (based on how I perceive them in the setting, anyway):

1. PoRich - Not only unjustified arrogance, but an obvious drunken scumbag. He's the type of guy you just wish would drive off a bridge while he was hammered to improve the state of the planet.

2. Aspire - Never before have I seen such unjustified arrogance. What the fuck is with this guy? Predicts lines, gives everyone "attitude" as if he's KEWL and you're not...and it doesn't seem like it's just a performance at all as it carries over to his post-battle interviews. He's really just a dick.

3. Pat Stay - I know his "shock value" shit is an act, but his "art" carries over into his real life. Or maybe it's the other way around. He's the biggest attention whore in battle rap. The "retirement" thing is just a transparent attempt at self-promotion. He'll be retiring and unretiring for the next 5-10 years. He's a cliche.


Possessed's prediction BS pissed me off to no end, too. I don't know if I'd call him a "douchebag," though. I think it was just a desperate tactic to throw off The Saurus/Illmaculate. Arkaic was a little bitch in WRC 07 when other guys were rapping (whereas Eurgh was at least respectful during the battles, including with NY before he blew up at the end with the BS judging/overrule...Wapps/Juice do suck and it did seem obviously rigged). I can understand a "WTF?" reaction to Wapps/Juice, but Arkaic was doing the same thing to Phranchyze/Zeale32.

Yeah, the now-famous "it's just a battle, Pete" line didn't come from nowhere.

I think everyone takes it quite seriously now, though. They have to, or they'll get destroyed. I think Kid Twist was kind of the catalyst for that when he went into WRC07 with enough devastating premeditated lines about everyone to battle for the next 50 years. After that, everything turned into written battle leagues.

4. Diaz - Arrogant cunt, despite being an average battler. Him and poRich were complete fucks in that doubles tournament final. Most irritating robbery ever.

5. Hindu Rock - Another average battler who thinks he's something great. He acts like a cunt in that Don't Flop battle with Tenchoo. He's probably been paid to fly out to England and he doesn't even prepare properly.

6. Kulez - Purely for that Madness battle. Gets paid by Eurgh, Madness flys half way round the world after various fund raisers and he doesn't even write for him. Just comes out with sloppy freestyles. I've seen him write on battle forums as well. Absolute cock.

Eurgh's reaction to that Wapps and Jaze battle is still hilarious to this day. Illmac's and Kid Twist's lines about it were even better. Eurgh always comes across as a bit of a diva in battles, but I just think that's how competitive he is. He seems cool as fuck as a person/hosting.

Hahaha Kerser. The worst thing about him is his fans are as deluded as he is. He literally has thousands of internet fanboys who get wet over anything he does, despite he fact he's an average battler. Illmac absolutely destroyed him.

The blind guy, Manaz, who battled Illmac (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUcbGpgW ... re=related) is sick. The fact he's blind doesn't even play a part, he's genuinely a good battler.

360's pretty good, his 2-on-2 with Justice against Sauras/Madness is great.

This is the guy (Tony D) who's facing Illmac next month. Should be good. Can't see Illmac getting anything other than a win, but Tony is one of DF's better battlers. Crowd is fucking annoying though.

Watched Soul Khan vs QP for the first time in ages. Jesus, I forget how well Khan can control a crowd. First verse cracks me up every time.

Just saw that Kid Twist is battling Uno Lavoz tomorow. That'll be as one sided as you can find. Same event as Sauras v PH.

LOL Uno Lavoz is just a shit gimmick. The only remotely funny thing he did was get overrated Don't Flop goldenboy Lunar C pissed off as he had the crowd on his side.

Even when he trys to be lyrical, it sounds forced and shit (Johnny Storm battle for eg). I can't believe he was meant to face Illmac earlier this year.
