saying that blacks dont respect em is false and im pretty sure they know hes a hella of an mc. i dont think blacks really relate to his music much. a lot of blacks or even mexicans in the hood grow up in broken homes and a mom is all they have, em had a bad relationship with his mom and dissed her in some tracks. im not dissin em cuz hes just telling his life story but i dont think most blacks really connect with his subject matter like most whites do.

ive never heard my black friends talk about em or anything and the same can be said about my white friends about Pac, they dont like Pac for the most part cuz he was always rapping about the hood or the struggle for black ppl.. im from a broken home and i hated the songs that em dissed his mom in, cuz i owe my mom errthing thats why i relate to Pac so much cuz i grew up poor as fuck in a broken home

ems is easily one of the greatest ever.. his accomplishments prove that

These arguments are pointless, black people I know love Eminem and place him as number 1 along with me. No, I didn't read this thread at all and only portions of the other one. I think it's retarded that you take the most retarded minority of a community and said it represents the community as a whole though, that's what it seemed like you all did in the first thread. Point is a lot of black people like Eminem, these two threads are retarded as fuck, and we should just lock these. I mean, if you took the retard minority of the white community you could get the same results but there would be no complaints. Anyway, white people tend to hate Eminem more than black people. What about Arabs? What do they think of Marshall?

I heard that the U.S. government uses Kim to torture them, so i don't know. Eminem might be the last thing they hear before they die. (Terrorist, not Arabs in general. I have lots of Arab friends and they are night people except for the fact I can't eat my damn bacon in their house).

Your actually being somewhat racist towards arabs by using the term "jihad" in that way because it doesnt really mean that. The terrorists just adopted the word to mean that for them, but it means something completely different for the vast majority of muslims.

I never implied Muslim, jihad is an islamic term but it can be used to describe any fight for beliefs or, as its original definition, "Any duty done on the account of your religious beliefs," which when the word was created related to the Islamic religion. At least in my community anyway, I never had a Muslim complain about it but I'm sorry if it offends anyone. I just look at it as a Christian person wouldn't consider a Crusade racists (half of them don't even know what that is) if I replaced crusade with jihad in the sentence. Never once did I say Muslims were going to do terrorist shit to black people.

haha i didnt really mean anything by it. I just saw that you started talking about arabs or something after that so I thought id point it out. Jihad is definitely commonly used that way now, but that is only since 9/11 when terrorism became a huge issue. Some terrorists starting using it to mean a literal "fight" against other people in the name of islam and the word became popularized in the west to mean that. Before the terrorists hijacked (no pun intended) the term most muslims then and even now see it as meaning more of a spiritual or religious struggle with one's self not against other people. But im sure most realize it is also frequently misunderstood now and so accept its current usage. Just thought id let you know what a muslim friend once informed me.

Correct me if i'm wrong here or anyone that is black here can answer this

In general black Hip Hop fans that do like or listen to Marshall what do the majority prefer when Em is making Deep tracks from a Personal perspective or when he just tryning to entertain doing his Slim Shady tracks?

Even if if it's people liking both what would people say is more appeakling enjoyable to his black audiance?

I feel like as long as he's making good music it shouldn't matter.

I understand that but it still doesnt answer the question Subject Matter is a major factor to some

To some as many point out Shock Value, pshyco Lyrics just isn''t appealing

And to some Emotional, Personal Music is too soft or sounds boring

It's simple if a white or black person grew up in a Middle Class or Upper Class home in the suburbs, with 2 parents that had good jobs. Had a good education like a private education. Wether black or white they not gonna relate to Em's Music for the most part or Rappers that grew up in his enviroment and Rap about things he does 2pac, DMX, Nas etc.

If a white or black person grew up really poor in the inner city, single parent home, had a parent on welfare, grew up having to work minimum wage jobs while provoding for a daughter or son, had a parent or family that were drug addicts etc then you gonna relate to Eminem's Music.

Now this where it gets complicated though a good % of blacks that experienced all those things Em Raps about and been throuh feel they would rather hear a black Rapper with that kinda Music cos of the history, past race tensions of America and simply cos a lotta people like to connect on a personal level with someone that sounds or looks like them and same for whites who experienced those things they gonna connect to Eminem Music about that more than DMX.
