The real question is will Recovery be appreciated more when his next album is released like Relapse.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

depends on a lot of things.

I think when encore dropped it actually made people question his other albums, whether it changed peoples minds or not i'm not sure. it could have made them look worse, or better as well.

we'll see if he drops a classic

^ I wouldnt bet on it. Face it since his comeback he hasnt shown to be consistent and jaw-dropping enough with his music to be able to reach classic status over the course of a whole album. The stuff that hes released since his comeback has overall been good-great not classic. I feel like you could say that about relapse, recovery, and hell the sequel. Keeping in mind im a big eminem fan so not all hip hop fans are going to see it that way, but I do feel like Im being pretty realistic. I am also ignoring some of his features which a few have been great, but more have been mediocre since his comeback. Since were talking about an album though those are really what we should compare them too as that is obviously where he is going to make the most effort, but back in the day it didnt matter. All of his features kicked ass.

For his next album I woud take something solid like recovery which will sell amazing and everyone will like for awhile as it will continue to establish himself as a major force in the rap game even now at his age which is not at all easy. People will be impressed, it will add to his overall reputation, and call more attention to the work he did during his prime which was truly untouchable. Id love for him to prove me wrong and come out with something like that, but it seems to me that right now em is just an above average rapper with a ridiculous amount of notoriety. His reign of true amazement and consistent brilliance with his music is over.

i think it was a good album, it was more serious, maybe it's better for him to make another album like recovery, cuz albums like the sslp he probably won't make anymore.

Yeah Relapse is really only glorified like that on here. Me and most of the people I know like some songs off it, but as a whole the album isnt that good.

This reminds me of the lyrics in 'Careful What You Wish For'

Every CD critics gave it a 3, then 3
Years later, they'd go back and re-rate it
And call the Slim Shady LP the greatest
The Marshall Mathers was a classic
The Eminem Show was fantastic
But Encore just didn't have the caliber to match it
I guess enough time just ain't passed, yet
A couple more years, that shit'll be ill-matic

I do think it will be remembered as an Eminem classic because it was a very successful album. They always say classic albums are the ones that sell the most.

but lately I've been loving Recovery more and more. I've always loved it, but now I'm really really into it. :flutter:

But seriously, Recovery is dope. I don't think the general opinion on it will change.

Frankly, years from now it will probably be seen as a sell out of sorts. When any artist goes through a sudden change in sound that is directly to mainstream pop it is almost never looked upon positively in retrospective.
