I'd argue that it's not. Hiphop is simply poetry + rhythm. Once you lose rhythm/multi's you're not longer rapping. You're just talking. So I think it's perfectly within their right to sacrifice for them. When I hear someone sacrifice rhyme & rhythm to shove in everything they have to say it's like nails on a chalkboard. I almost always prefer a verse to be jampacked with multi's and as many different flows as possible. Now, I don't expect everybody to share that preference with me, but there's people that do (such as Tech N9ne and Crooked I) who full-well understand lyricism and what they're hearing.

Does that mean Tech's is just objectively better? No. But I like it a whole lot more and I'd be pissed if there weren't any artists out there providing it. You have to look at artists for what they offer, as opposed to what you think they should be. Otherwise bullshit arguments start up and we end up with 40 useless threads in the em section

So basically, he's not sacrificing the intelligibility of his lyrics for rhymes (as much). "Technician Language" is just a cop out for sub-par lyricism. Seriously, try to write a verse in "Technician Language", you may surprise yourself by writing something that could EASILY pass as Tech N9ne lyrics.

Tech's always had like a.. "Technician" language that can be hard to understand if you're not familiar with him. Like that section you quoted. It makes sense though.

Well for starters he's making sense

I think it's also fair to say that he's gotten a lot more confident/creative with his use of flows. Before, he used to try and squeeze as much as he possibly could out of a rhyme, whereas now I think he's more focused on coming up with new ways to approach the beat.

Before I say anything I want to make it clear that I was agreeing that the intro to This Ring makes little to no sense. Not defending that

However I don't think it's a "cop out for sub-par lyricism" since he's kept it consistent since day one. That's just his style of writing, even when it's not hiphop. If this wasn't the case I'd agree with you, but I genuinely believe it's how his mind works. Of course I'm not him so what the fuck do i know
