Obvious, title is obvious.
But, just watching a live performance of it... the writing / flow of it... > hip-hop.

I don't think you appreciate the impact the Bass Brothers had on Em's production. Name me something he has produced without their influence that has come close the TWIA or Sing for the Moment et al.

Oh I do appreciate the influence though.
And, "The Way I Am" was produced without them. It was the first beat he produced completely 'on his own' (from the words of his mouth), and it's credited just to him.
They were the musicians but Em often came up with the melodies. Most rap producers don't play instruments or even come up with their own melodies, they hear things, sample etc. Em has a very particular sound to his production and comes up with melodies. His best stuff mostly is with the Bass Bros, but Dre's best stuff is with other producers, or musicians, it's rarely ever a one man beat.
Point is, he's the driving force in it. And much more so than most other 'producers'.
He also produced "Soldier" on his own. Another awesome beat.
Oh, and "No Apologies". Amazing beat. And "Renegade".

You're wrong, Eminem didn't produce The Way I Am without them. Em himself says: 'I had Jeff [Bass] play the [piano] loop' once he had it worked out. Yes, Eminem went about making this track completely off his own back, but the Bass Brother's still had an influence (they should have been credited with at least assisting Em on tracks like these). Em may have had the beat in his head, but he can't play the piano. He NEEDS someone like Jeff Bass to play his thoughts out in order to make them tangible, which is why I said they deserve recognition.
