No shit.
Just wish more realized it at the time so he didn't trash R2. If it ended at "Deja Vu" it would be SUCH A top to bottom classic for me, I just can never forget them last few songs though.

In my opinion, those songs fit good. It's like a story..for 15 tracks he is " on drugs" and talks about drugs in general..in Deja vu, track 16 he overdosed..then he recovered himself from drugs and started to feel good. He did track 17, beautiful, with different voice, beat, no more accents. All tracks after deja vu are different from the rest of the album. That is when relapse 2 was supposed to start..its like the last 3 track are a bridge to relapse 2..crack a bottle is also different , and the last song is a relapse 2 song. You have to think that relapse was supposed to be in 2 albums..it's like a big story, tracks 17,18,19,20 are in my opinion the opening tracks to relapse 2,so these 3 songs fit good with the album..
Sorry for my bad english

Just listened right the way through again and the album flows PERFECTLY, every track is fucking banging and enjoyable as hell, and the skits / story / concept all work... even where right after "Must be the Ganja" he theoretically passes out after being at the height of his 'drug daze' and journeying through his manic, psychotic, wacky, insane, murderous relapse adventure...
And, "Deja Vu" is him out of that, woken up and reflecting, and so it makes sense for him to be out of character there and would have been perfect to end on...
Because it was supposed to be two albums anyway, so if he had ended there - no "Beautiful", "Crack a Bottle" or "Underground", or closing skit, but just ended on that song with perhaps a little added outro, and then Relapse 2 picks up where that leaves off, with essentially a second relapse, that is ten times more extreme, crazy and threatening... the sequel would have made perfect sense, would have been climactic and, yeah, it would have been perfect to end no.1 there.
If it ends there, it's very very close to a classic to me. Shitty extra tracks ruin it. Tagged right on the end as well, after the rest flows and works SO well. Very annoying.
EminemBase wrote:That flows like a real piece of work to me, with every song placed and intended to do something at a certain point, and every single song I think feels like it should be there, sonically / stylistically...
So I don't mind every song not being amazing, but on like Relapse, when you have "Beautiful", just fucks up the flow / takes me out of 'the movie' in the same way having say... a totally off-kilter, random out-of-tone scene in a movie would. Like if you had a drama scene in a horror movie, that just felt totally weird and out of place, it would ruin the experience as a whole for me...
I just want it to be totally consistent. If Relapse had ended at "Deja Vu" for me, it'd be a classic. Because man, that album just flows so beautifully and every track sounds like one batch, and it hits different points like The Eminem Show. And it seems a bit ridiculous to say it's not a classic because of a few added tracks, when I could just ignore them, but, I dunno... I just can't seem to get past them in my mind when I think back to the album. Because I always remember them.

the highs are really high with SWA, Deja Vu, SS&D, Ganja, Beautiful, Hello
but the lows are just awfully low for me with WMY, Crack a Bottle, 3am, Old Times Sake, Bagpipes
album could have been a classic if those tracks werent on there and Elevator, Music Box, and Forever replaced em

You're late to the party.
