Survival had some good rapping. First verse was forgettable. Second verse was dope though. Third verse was real good until the achieve line he ended it with. Overall the rapping was decent, still was using too many pauses here and there though, still was yelling a little bit though. The production takes the song down, as does the hook though. Survival felt like a Recovery left over or something to me.

Berzek was a good hook, solid beat that grows on you each time, with okay rapping at best. I enjoy it, but its nothing to write mother about. Its better than something like Rain Man, which I also enjoy but is still nothing special.

First verse on Berzerk overall was solid I thought. It started off real real good and I was thinking oh shit, Ems about to kill this track, but it faltered after the first 10-15 seconds a bit. Still pretty good though I guess. Second verse started out good with the first few bars, but again it falters in the middle. The best part of the 2nd verse is the first few bars and the ending about Bozos being smart enough to feel stupid. I get he was making fun of people with the noises on the 2nd verse but still the verse fell a bit flat. The 3rd verse once again starts out good, but again this falters a bit in the middle, and he ruins it with the toe jam line.

Not true. I'd still be calling Berzerk what it is. Decent enough, nowhere near as good as his best lead singles, but its still probably better than his worst lead singles he's been a part of.

MMLP2 had me hyped as hell, and when I heard the first few bars on Berzerk, I was thinking oh shit Ems back and he's about to kill this shit. But I heard the rest of it, and its alright, but it definitely slowed my roll and reminded me to keep my expectations on the lower side and not expect something the level of his first 3 major label albums.

I have to be honest. I'm so anxious about the second single it's crazy. That really will reveal the direction he's taking the album, and if it's more of that super punchline-laced soft.... THEN LOUD!! style he's been on, I will fucking scream. I pray the second single has him rapping smoothly over a minimal HIP HOP beat. Not some 80's rocky type shit that overpowers his vocals and makes him scream. Nah I want just a nice beat, simple with maybe some piano or something thrown in, and Em rapping with a Renegade type flow. Then I'll be a happy camper :y: :D

I hope later this month but October seems more likely

The chorus is cool,, not godly or great.. some times some of you make me wonder if you've ever listened to anything outside of Eminem... there's sooooo much GREAT MUSIC out there.. I'm really just interested in this Rick Rubin production... and Eminems creative approach.. it all depends ... if he approached it from a direct, I'm going in inspiration, don't care what others think, then we might be in for something great..

Whitefox wrote:EminemBase, why dont you take into account that Berzerk and Survival in MMLP2 are some kind of, lets say, Beautiful and Crack a Bottle in Relapse? I think you organize the funeral too early. I know, the production bugs you, but it's just the matter of taste. I dont see the production on Berzerk being messy, all around the place or whatever you call it.

I do take that in to account yo @ those tracks on Relapse...

Which is what worries me!

Because for ME, they ruin the whole album experience.

Not because an album is reliant on one or two songs, but if they sound nothing like the rest; it just breaks the continuity and the 'whole' feeling of the body of work... which always limits how good the album feels to me. I grew up listening to full albums, not single tracks.

I like it better than anything off Recovery except maybe On Fire and No Love. It's just one of those songs that takes a few listens to get it all in your head.

''Berzerk'' is an odd song and an awesome song. I still don't know how to rate it. I feel awesome about it. I feel weird about it. It feels 80s. It feels so 2013. It feels like Slim Shady. But then, it doesn't.

I think Eminem just wanted to throw us off into a state of confusion.

If ''Berzerk'' really is an awful song, I'll just say that it's the SICKEST most ''awful'' song in history!

@Whitefox, what makes you think Survival will be on MMLP2?
