His music was on point back then. He is going back to kind of rediscover the passion he had. Back when rap was more relavent, back when he could do anything on the mic.

He is going back to make the same album again, he's going back to recapture enthusiasm he had so he can leave that. "I don't have anything left to give" mindset behind.

Things change over a decade, and some things from that time period he'd like to get back into his music, but that doesn't mean he is going backwards. It's just going back to his roots to give him fire to go forward.

That makes sense. I was thinking this must be to re-inspire himself and rap. Like the lyric: "Let's take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch." In a lot of cases rap has gotten away from what it used to be, maybe he's trying to bring some of good old stuff into the present/future? Who knows, I wish I could get inside his head, see his thought process. He's so secretive, I want to know where he's going with this!

That's likely what this sequel actually is and means. I think it really just means revisiting that mind set and taking us back to a time where hip hop was rawer than it is now.

I think after HTS he really had no idea what he could rap about any more. That is why I think he got in contact with Rick Rubin who would have made him listen to his old music. Not the first time Em has rapped himself into a corner, a lot harder to get out of a corner at this stage in his career. I just hope MMLP2 is dope as fuck with Em and Dre Production or generally simplistic melody/beats where he can ride the beat like he used to. I'm not too concerned about his rhyming I think his writing/rhyming is good at the moment, it is his delivery/beat production and some aspects of his creativity that have me worried going into MMLP2. Although I enjoyed Berzerk for what it is.

Yeah I finally just paid attention to the lyrics. He's saying lets do it the way it used to be done when hip hop was good and interesting. Bringing the fundamentals of the past into the future. Interesting that he'd go that route and not get lazy and stick to formula like of lot of artists with long successful careers do....but wait I'm sounding too positive here....I still don't want the blond back. There that's the better lol.

I'll go ahead and say this here too. In regards to the interview.

Em has been doing this for 15 years. Do you think that was just random?

He knew acting crazy like that would get everyone talking. He just hyped the album up even more.

Is Em back on drugs? Obviously not, but more people will are interested when they think he might be.

It's all business. Em isn't sitting at home crying over what the media is saying. He did what he needed to do, which was promote the album.

No one would be saying shit if he just stood there silent the entire time.

So what's up with next Saturday, he's going to "open" Sat night football at 8 pm. Eastern? Like he'll perform or what?

As a fan since Slim Shady EP, I have to be a bit worried about the title and Berzerk. What does this album really have to do with MMLP, one of the greatest albums ever made? Relapse was an incredibly fun album but not groundbreaking and Recovery was far too commercial for its own good, so I'm hoping that phase is over. Berzerk was a decent song, but sounded like it belonged more on Recovery as kind of a catchy song with a Macklemore-esque hook. Please, Em, bring us some DARKNESS. Relapse had the whole serial killer thing going on which was great...but not frightening at all save for My Darling. If the album is going to be called MMLP2, I just hope there's a bit of a Kim vibe on it.
