Subpar production, corny punchlines, inconsistency throughout it.

Go into the album thinking absolutely nothing about you're probably gonna like it a lot more. Nitpicking doesn't do any good for you.

I don't understand why people think Em will keep using it throughout the album, he did it in Rap God because of the title itself, rap god, he rapped in different flows throughout the song just so he could show can can rap in different ways, he executed it perfectly honestly.SoldierShady wrote:raul-valente wrote:VINTAGƎ wrote:What's your biggest worry about the album?

This pretty much. And rapid/double time rapping.

Corny punchlines are also a very real concern I have.
But Rap God showed promise. Stuff like massacre/mass occur was pretty good.

I don't think most of us are intentionally nitpicking. I think most of us grew up on Em and are used to his flawlessness early on in his career.
I'm not one of those people who hates on everything he does nowadays. Or I'm one of those people that thinks anything after TES is garbage. Actually, I loved Recovery and bump it like every week or every few weeks and it still sounds fresh to me.
I don't mind change in sound, change in flow, change in subject matter -- but there's no denying that there are chinks in his armor now from a lyrical standpoint.
Butt police/rear rear rear is simply not as sharp as stuff he's written before.
I don't mind Rihanna collabs, I don't mind outside production, I don't mind female hooks. So long as his lines are sharp.
I think we're entitled to have concerns in that respect given some of his recent stuff post Recovery.
