Expectations can be separate from eventual opinions, as long as you don't have a motive.

I've been through all the albums with Em, therefore i'm honest when I hear his music, I know where it ranks amongst his other stuff (nostalgia bias aside). So I know I can sit here, make predictions, then as soon as that shits in my speakers, i'll just switch it all off, and listen to the evidence in hand.

We're not getting our hopes up, or expecting much/asking for much. I'm not saying some of the stuff that other people are like "he better rap about this," or "he better have a beat that sounds like this," etc.

Sonically, I have no expectations. Beats, hooks, subject matter, I have no demands or expectations. But, I'm sorry, asking that an emcee who is considered by many to be GOAT have lyrics that don't make you cringe or shake your head is not asking for a lot.

I hate how some people cringe at every single bit of wordplay Em uses, no other rapper is held to this standard. Especially when Eminem was never a punchline rapper. He was witty and said funny/cool things but he was mostly slick with how outlandish he was. He was never a Jadakiss/Fabolous punchline artist.

People are so critical of everything he does, and not other legends.

for sho. some peeps on here and other sites have recently rated hopsins new track as dope and failed to point out the cheesy lines, them same peeps have ridiculed ems recent efforts. i wish people would scrutinize every other artist on the same level they do for em

No it's not lol. Terrible? You can not like it, but is it REALLY terrible? Ask yourself that and realize what terrible means. It's not GOAT but it's not fucking terrible, I'd take that punchline over any fucking punchline on Recovery.
