:y:

The only one of Em's classics that MMLP 2 comes close to touching imo is SSLP

Menzo can relate to The Way I Am.

My point is with these string of posts, is that Menzo is really fucking angry.

TES has Sing For The Moment, 'Till I Collapse, Hailie's Song and Say Goodbye Hollywood. It's better than 99% of rap music for those songs alone.

100%

It's kind of a harsh thing to say considering TES has songs like "White America", "Cleaning Out My Closet", "Til I Collapse" and "Sing For The Moment" but eh...it's the closest to a third classic he's gotten to though.

what menzo said, but tbh it didnt age well one bit :coffee:

You think TES didn't age well? Cmon shun.

Put on Cleanin' Out My Closet or Sing For The Moment... they haven't aged well?

I think TES is his best all-round album but can also agree it doesn't quite feel like a classic in a weird way too, but weirdly I think it's because the music has aged exceptionally... even though we know the songs so profoundly, something about the album, internally, feels kinda fresh and not like this fine-wine classic art piece.

Also prolly because it's so personal and realistic. SSLP and MMLP are both conceptual so they feel more like works of fiction which cement themselves as classic works in comparison to something very serious and open.

I think MMLP2 will be a classic. People say its not, but it will be in like 8 to 10 years. Picture listening to Rap God or Groundhog Day in 10 years. :worship:

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

I don't believe it'll ever be a classic, it has some material on it that you would hear on a classic Em album (Bad Guy, Rhyme Or Reason, Asshole, Rap God, So Far..., Evil Twin, Groundhog Day) but it's not going to have an impact on the game as much as his first three did.

unfair tbh, :( dudes 41 and by that age to still make an album THIS fuckin good is awesome as hell... :flutter:
i dont think anyone can have a run like em 1999-2002. nobody not kendrick nobody.
what i dont think is fair is to say an album isnt a classic just because it didnt have this huge crazy impact on the game... its 2014 not 2000, yakno?
