That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm not going to expect it to blow me away on first listen.

Honestly I think all of the Rick Rubin songs had to grow on me to some extent. There were things I really liked from the beginning, but it took a little while to fully appreciate them. I think that would be a safe expectation to have. I'm confident it will be a great song, but it might take a few listens before it sinks in.

the single is called "i ", but was recently rumored to be called i (love myself). At the end of every verse in Real on GKMC, he says "What's love got to do with it if you don't love yourself." GKMC ends with Kendrick becoming what he is today irl. Any continuation would just be a day in the life of kendrick lamar the rapper, whatever that entails. The story's being continued...i love myself.
And maybe kendrick is predicting his own death:
"If Pirus and Crips all got along
They'd probably gun me down by the end of this song"
-maad city
btw, if its an international release (itunes) then the song should be out in a few hours... its already very late in Sidney. Hopefully its not a radio premiere. But if they want it on itunes it will be there first regardless. if not they have to wait til next week
