Me too, the hype was there on the day the cypher was supposed to come but now it's gonna have to be like nothing we've ever heard before otherwise it'll be a massive anticlimax

Wow it defenatly wasn't an anticlimax, and em's verse was like nothing I've ever heard before :y:

He should fucking stick to this kind of shit too.

Something about him revving up and going intense seems to re-engage aggressive & humorous thinking patterns for him. It's not that I love 'fast rappidy shit' so much but he creates the shit in weird 'flow webs' where it's bursts of rhythm still, I still hear melodic patterns in it and it sounds very clear.

It's also the only style which seems to truly blow his prime out of the water because it's so intense. I'm talking about when he's mixing autiobiography-cocky-socialcommentary-anger-emotion all in to explosive and dramatic bursts, it feels like WOW and there's substance to it - people just don't listen properly.

**Before anybody quotes some rapidy shit** - he obviously has more babble than he would if rapping slow as he's filling more bars and trying to maximise OTT rhymes too but for the most part it feels/sounds significant and like some mad hatter genius just having insane, funny and brilliant thoughts rush out of him and rhyme at 100mph.

His prime greatness is so great that he would either need to stop and focus so hard on subject-matter and make something so deep and affecting that you forget being overwhelmed, or, continue down this lane and just create pure Mike Tyson bliss. Which, I prefer. And he should try to stroytell with it like "Bad Guy" and "So Far" and mix fantasy and real-life humour - the shit works really well and sounds fresh as fuck.

There's so much brilliance in this and some of his new raps... fucking make a classic Em! Damn you.

Didn`t have the time to listen to DvE or the cypher, but I just went quick through the cypher and that was the first thing I noticed. I have no idea how I remembered the fucking ceiling.

Like a mate said yesterday this Eminem is the best of his carrer (in technical and lyrical aspects)

Indeed, the complexity, depth, creativity, metaphors, double and triple meanings of his verse and lines are incredibly insane.

I've been listening hip hop for many years and never heard anything remotely like this, and is not a product of hype, is the result of listening to one of the best verses I've heard in my entire life.

And the line of style and production that is taking the album on the first two songs is fascinating me.

The boom rap of DJ Premier, the drums of DvsE... sick.

Eminem is still a beast with wordplay, complex rhyming, etc.

I'm at a loss for words as to why he can't rap in his songs all the time now like he does in cyphers. I'm done with the fast as fuck flow. It worked perfect on Rap God and made a perfect song IMO for him. Also a few other songs on MMLP2 it worked.

But out of these new few verses I've heard from him, I only really liked the 2nd verse on Guts Over Fear. The hook and beat on that song are weak though IMO, and the 1st verse was meh. And now Detroit vs Everybody.....wasn't really feeling his verse much.

Was it complex and have a lot of difficult rhyming, yeah. But it's like he's sacrificing the overall sound of the music or his verse in general to be ubber complex for the sake of being ubber complex with it. There's been recent evidence of Em being ubber complex and not trying to beat us over the head with his flow.

Brainless, Groundhog Day, Baby, etc.

I wish Em would just rap like he does on Brainless, Baby, Groundhog Day, Evil Twin for the rest of his career. Honestly. After MMLP2, aside from Monster/Stronger Than I Was/Berzerk (Survival had some dope rapping), this shit isn't that great IMO.

Guts Over Fear and Detroit vs Everybody sound like a bit of a regress from HTS and MMLP2. I'm a big fan of the dude, just being honest in my own personal opinion. I'm such a fan, I want him to get the universal respect he deserves. I understand there's going to be people who 100% hate anything new Em does, but at least HTS and MMLP2 he kind of silenced the critics a bit.
