I've heard the greatest things in life are unseen
That's why we close our eyes when we kiss, cry, and dream
But sometimes we strive to see just a peak at what the future might hold
I've come to realize, however, that that's not life's true gold
Patience is a virtue the unseen will eventually unfold
When and where it strikes is a mystery of old
I'm frightened of what I've found, for they say we fear what we can't control
It's a miracle of evolution, something that strikes the soul
Something that binds, becomes unbreakable, and whole
How long it takes to reveal it's true identity is unknown
The force of the impact it has however, is known
This is the true meaning of life when it is uncovered
But it may take years for it to become discovered
Once it's revealed, you'll never recover
You'll never be the same once it penetrates your heart
Something that exists, even when you're apart
It comes without warning, indescribable at that
Creeps up on you like that of a cat
It's one of life's true wonders, a mystery from above
It's a little something we all call love
