In an attempt to save itself from the humiliation of knowing absolutely nothing about who is hot and who is not in hip hop, MTV released their "honorable mentions" list, which they hope will fix the backlash from fans who said their "Hottest MCs In The Game" list was completely wrong.
MTV says "These guys may not have made the top 10 "Hottest MCs" list for one reason or another, but they have impacted the game during the past several months. And while everyone's goal is to make it to the roundtable's controversial ranking board, an honorable mention is nothing to sneeze at."
Either way, to us it just seems like MTV is trying to dig itself out of the "out of touch" hole they dug. MC's listed in their "honorable mentions" list include The Game, Soulja Boy, Shawty Lo, Fabolous, Joe Budden, Rocko, Prodigy, Gucci Mane, Styles-P, Flo-Rida, Plies, Webbie, Ludacris, Fat Joe, and Bun B.
Basically anyone who released an album or single in the last year or basically if you are a rapper with a record deal, you were named.

In an attempt to connect back with the Hip Hop culture, which it lost years ago by banning almost every hip hop video and censoring lyrics that appear on it's station, MTV released their annual 'Hottest MCs In The Game' list Friday.
Proving how out of touch with Hip Hop it is, MTV's list clearly isn't more than a list of recent albums that have been released with a few notables inserted in to try and give the TV station some street cred. Check out the list below, do you agree?
01. Kanye West
02. Jay-Z
03. Lil Wayne
04. Rick Ross
05. Snoop Dogg
06. 50 Cent
07. Lupe Fiasco
08. Young Jeezy
09. Andre 3000
10. T.I.
