I agree. The punchlines were always the icing on the cake to me when I listened to the albums. Not to say he didn't come with any good punchlines at all on Relapse because the Heath Ledger line at the end of My Mom was good IMO. It was one of those moments where I really didn't want to laugh, but couldn't help doing so any way :sweating:

I light a candle and place it up on the mantle
Grab a knife at the blade and stab you with the fuckin handle
So when you find yourself wrapped up in the blinds, hurtin
[Swifty] Bitch it's too late
[Eminem] Cause once you're hung from the drapes, it's curtains

I know what you mean man, he used to have the sickest wit and punchlines. There were some good ones on Relapse but nothing to match what he's done in the past.

This is what made me a fan of his. He always had some funny shit to say. Take the:

"Throw a stroller at you...With a baby in it" line. When he comes with the "with a baby in it" it's so simple, but it cracks you up.

He doesn't have that anymore. He doesn't have punchlines, he doesn't use metaphors/similes, or anything. This is why he is very average, and the only reason he is even average despite the wack accent, is because he can flow his ass off.

He just rhymes multi-syllables, and that is it, and most of the time, his multi's don't even make sense. Take the overrated garbage Underground song. It's complete trash.
I can't believe how fast Eminem fell off. Went from a possible Top 5 candidate to not even in the Top 50.

And he ate a mans ass live on national TV. SMH at that clown.

So wack.

he still does them, just not as much as he use to.

but I got a stong feeling that relapse 2 will have allot of them. just look at his late freestyles. they all have ironic/wordplay punches in them. :y:

I always thought that Eminem's greatest qualities were imagery and the never ending rhyme. He's never had great metaphors or great wordplay. Not for one second would I ever consider him a punchline rapper and most of his punchlines are pretty weak when you compare to other rappers out.

hmm, if eminems lines are weak, i want to hear what you been listenin to...

"I go to jail and murder you from a cell
Put a knife in an envelope and have you stabbed in the mail"

"Forget a chorus -- my metaphors are so complicated
it takes six minutes to get applause
And by the time you all catch on, I'ma end your career
and walk away with the whole floor so you have nothin to fall back on!"

"You wacker than the motherfucker you bit your style from
You ain't gonna sell two copies if you press a double album"

"Better hide your wallet cause I'm coming up quick to strip your cash
Bought a ticket to your concert just to come and whip your ass"

"I'm Nicer than Pete, but I'm on a Serch to crush a Milkbone
I'm Everlast-ing, I melt Vanilla Ice like silicone
I'm ill enough to just straight up diss you for no reason
I'm colder than snow season when it's twenty below friezing
Flavor with no seasoning, this is the sneak preview
I'll diss your magazine and still won't get a WEAK review"

"Fuck droppin the jewel, I'm flippin the sacred treasure
I'll bite your motherfucking style, just to make it fresher!!!"

so yeah, where can i find some of these other rappers out that are so great?
