Lol, just saw the thread.
It's a decent album in terms of 'mainstream-albums,' however, it's an excellent hard-core hip hop album. Haven't heard a lyrical album like that in ages. They proved all the haters and critics wrong. Everybody was saying that these 4 emcees can't work together, guess what? They just did. They got great chemistry and none of them is weak. They naturally hold a lil' back at some points, eventhough it seems like they are trying to outshine each other. Which makes them a perfect group, they are different, yet the same. Royce describes them the best on Sound Off, Slaughterhouse is the Voltron crew.
Next to all out lyrical tracks, they got two songs which could do great on the radio, yet those songs are still lyrically better than 98% of the songs played on the radio (the two I'm talking about are The One and Not Tonight). And they got two songs with a meaning, Raindrops and Pray (dissappointed at Joey not having a verse on Pray, however, he did a similar song on his latest album, named Pray 4 Me).
Overall the album is almost perfect, the skits could have been left out. They are funny to listen too, once. After the second time listenning to those skits, I felt like they interuppted the flow of the album. Would be way better if they had thrown Warriors and Move On instead of the skits on the album (which I have done on my mp3 player, replaced the skits with those two songs).
I think it's a great album, even if your not a fan of all out lyrical songs, you still can enjoy the beats, which were dope and fresh. Normally lyrically songs lack on the production or the emcee just doesn't go good with the beat. But Slaughterhouse did the beats justice, and slaughtered them.
So minus the skits, the lack of a Joe Budden verse on Pray.. I think it's a great album, especially if you bear in mind that this album was recorded in a week, yes ONE WEEK.
Slaughterhouse might be the best Hip Hop group ever made, if their next album will be as good or even better than this one (assuming a second album is coming -pause).
There you go Coleon, that's my review
