Lol, just saw the thread.

It's a decent album in terms of 'mainstream-albums,' however, it's an excellent hard-core hip hop album. Haven't heard a lyrical album like that in ages. They proved all the haters and critics wrong. Everybody was saying that these 4 emcees can't work together, guess what? They just did. They got great chemistry and none of them is weak. They naturally hold a lil' back at some points, eventhough it seems like they are trying to outshine each other. Which makes them a perfect group, they are different, yet the same. Royce describes them the best on Sound Off, Slaughterhouse is the Voltron crew.

Next to all out lyrical tracks, they got two songs which could do great on the radio, yet those songs are still lyrically better than 98% of the songs played on the radio (the two I'm talking about are The One and Not Tonight). And they got two songs with a meaning, Raindrops and Pray (dissappointed at Joey not having a verse on Pray, however, he did a similar song on his latest album, named Pray 4 Me).

Overall the album is almost perfect, the skits could have been left out. They are funny to listen too, once. After the second time listenning to those skits, I felt like they interuppted the flow of the album. Would be way better if they had thrown Warriors and Move On instead of the skits on the album (which I have done on my mp3 player, replaced the skits with those two songs).

I think it's a great album, even if your not a fan of all out lyrical songs, you still can enjoy the beats, which were dope and fresh. Normally lyrically songs lack on the production or the emcee just doesn't go good with the beat. But Slaughterhouse did the beats justice, and slaughtered them.

So minus the skits, the lack of a Joe Budden verse on Pray.. I think it's a great album, especially if you bear in mind that this album was recorded in a week, yes ONE WEEK.

Slaughterhouse might be the best Hip Hop group ever made, if their next album will be as good or even better than this one (assuming a second album is coming -pause).

There you go Coleon, that's my review :b:

In terms of lyrics, yes. Wu got nothing on Slaughterhouse when it comes down to being lyrical, but that doesn't mean shit, I know, lol.

I think:
1. Crooked I
2. Joe Budden
3. Joell Ortiz
4. Royce Da 5'9''

On this album, Joey's verses need to sink in, lyrically they fire. He lacks the flow and delivery Royce got though. But Royce had a lot of weak lines, but he delivers them great. Joell, well.. let's say he stepped it up a lil'.

But it's all opinion, they are all great. But my 2 fav on this album are Crooked and Joey.

EDIT: And I agree, I know for a fact I will enjoy their solo albums more. But still, this wasn't a bad attempt.

I got tired of it. Without a doubt they're lyrically decent rappers, but I don't think Ortiz is that great, Joe only shines when he's about to cut himself, Royce's best point is his delivery, and past punchlines Crook doesn't offer me much. When it comes to hardcore punches and lyrics on that level people don't even attempt to make albums like this. They got it on lock and in that sense it was fire. But in the sense of overall entertainment and a development through the CD I thought it lacked. I see it as a legendary mixtape, but an incomplete ALBUM if you know what I mean. The entertainment for me just wasn't there.
