em sold more with his first 4 albums (sslp, mmkp, TES, encore) then jay did with his first 11, I don't think it makes a difference how many albums in this case but I understand what you mean, saying he has 11 number 1 albums is pretty amazing

That would mean Em doing 5 more albums and Jay to do no more albums...that's not gonna happen...on both ends of the spectrum

Think about it.

His company still is bigger than Shady Records and is more productive as well. His influence is much greater than Eminem's as well.

When Eminem released his albums, were any rappers adopting his style? No.

When Jay-Z popularized the Mafioso theme of rap, were rappers adopting? Very much yes.

His influence is still very very apparent today, in a bad way, though, sadly.

And still as of today, more rap artists look up to Jay-Z as a bigger figure in the rap game. Don't get me wrong; Eminem is humongous, but he just came back from a 5-year break. He's not fresh in minds...

You're totally right. I completely agree wit you. But you know very well that Em's style is almost impossible to adopt. He had a completely different life story than any other rapper, so he rapped about totally different shit. Plus, he is the only white rapper up there wit other hip hop heads...

J's company is better, no doubt

and claiming who's a bigger figure is speculation

I know who started it, I'm saying who popularized it. When Kool G Rap started it, it wasn't until several years later with Raekwon until people knew about that shit.

And you ever heard of the "Big Pimpin'" era?

so you're saying Raekwon poularized it  and J?

ever heard of Em selling more records with less albums...also known as a verfiable fact which you have lacked thus far

We're talking about who's a bigger figure right now. :sweating:

I never knew you were an Eminem defender. :o

I'm testing how far Stan logic can go on this topic, no offense.

Yes, Raekwon popularized it. Haha, the proof is everywhere.

Tell me an album between the release date of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and Kool G Rap's Live and Let Die album that had strong references to a Mafioso lifestyle.

Then after OB4CL was released, tell me an album that was Mafioso. The latter shouldn't be hard...

hahahahaha. Jay Z is a great businessman. (BP3 Era Hes bought alot of his airplay and promo and even albums (imo): he's still paying for his music to be played continually. He's sinking big bucks into his promotion coz he knows this is most probably his last album.

and i'm not saying Kwon didn't popularize it

you said Jay-Z popularized it, i said Kool G did, now you're saying Kwon did

you're arguing hypocritically

and a bigger "figure" is opinion and in the end i'd say Em has more fans etc but J prob has more respect from the actual hip hop base, Em has fans where he's the onoly rap they listen to

Raekwon popularized it after Kool G Rap introduced it and Jay-Z permanently popularized it. There.

I'm not flaming on everybody who defends Eminem. If there's something I disagree with, I'll say it, haha. And I've joined the site much longer than you, so you can't say anything about what I'm trying to do. And look at you editing pussy for bitch-ass, haha. Respect the opinions. :b:

His company owns Shady records tho :y: In fact, Eminem will probbably never catch Jay Z on the Forbes list. Thats the only place where jay has him beat.
