"The best rapper of all time" ?

Word to mcZu. There is no definite G.O.A.T., but there are preferences. But when you are judging the best rapper of all time, should you look at his actual lyrical skill/flow or should you pay more attention to his discography and then make a judgement from there?

I would say lyrical skill/flow, but that is just me.

If a rapper couldn't make dope albums, then he isn't dope. Discography showcases a rappers ability to drop constant heat, where as dope rappers with no good albums ain't shit imo.

True. I would judge looking at both. It's hard though, since a good album must have good production, and it's not always the rapper's fault that the production is faulty. It could be the label's fault?

Just let everyone have their own opinion. You admitted it all comes down to preference, so if LilWayne4Life puts Weezy on his top 5, just let it go. You seem too eager to prove that you are educated in the "old school" hip hop or whatever it's called. Honestly, "old school" means early 1980's, but whatever.

Funny, I could swear that is YOU. I don't have to prove nothing to anyone. I'd say my hip hop knowledge is "medium". There are more knowledgable hip hop heads on this forum than me. I have older brothers who know A LOT more than me, I just kind of followed my older bro and been listening to hip-hop subconsiously since I was 7.


LilWayne4Life (see username) doesn't just put Weezy in his top 5 you know Weezy is his #1 of all time. If a user called "Eminem4Life" made the same comments about Eminem as this guy then you would be calling him a Stan so don't come with that shit.

I don't really like him either, but does it really matter if he is featured on a Weezy album? Em's verse on Forever was hot and that featured Wayne too.

1. I'm not asking who is the best rapper of all time in this thread. I am asking is there such a thing?

2. Find me a thread where someone asks if there IS such a thing as the "best rapper of all time" and not a top 10 list or whatever, because this aint. I doubt there is one exactly like this.

I posted "dis-respecting" Wayne in the thread in hip hop domain to combat elite stannerism from "LilWayne4Life" clearly taking the piss by including his name with the likes of Biggie, Rakim, Big Pun and 2Pac.
