Just because it's from the 8 Mile soundtrack doesn't necessarily mean he is. The "character writing" and him writing as himself intertwine. Lose Yourself's second verse for example deals with fame.

Pretty sure Jimmy Smith Jr. didn't have writer's block, he just choked on stage. Eminem however, had a serious problem with writer's block that plagued him throughout the years he was a drug-addict.

Not the best hip-hop song ever but probably Eminem's without a question. If someone puts Stan, The Way I Am, or Till I Collapse in front of it, that's fine.. But I just can't see Eminem ever topping it.
