He just keeps insisting that Eminem is a sell out.

Can't really do anything bout it.

I know. But every time I mention Eminem or say this song is pretty good, he'd just say that he's mainstream, etc and says to "get off his balls" lol.

Here's some of the rappers that he mentioned are better:

GZA
Method Man
Q-tip
?uestion Mark
Ol Dirty
RZA
Raekwon
Blu
MF Doom
Dark Shadow

He does say that Lil Wayne is a piece of shit.

Almost every single MC on that list is not underground.

Does he not understand the meaning of underground? Underground does not mean "'old school" or whatever the fuck you call it; don't get it confused. Underground usually means unsigned or artists don't get their songs chart. Wu-Tang is mainstream. Wu-Tang is not pop. Mainstream is not pop. :n:

Ignorance is what is killing hip-hop nowadays. Not mainstream. :n:

Print out lyrics from "Stan", "Infinite", "Cleaning Out My Closet", "Kill You", and "The Way I Am", or just about any non-Encore song(except 4 Toy Soldiers, Mosh and Mockingbird) and make him study it. If he thinks that's shit then tell him to fuck off and listen to Justin Bieber or The Jonas Brothers.

Then call him a tasteless hater. :shifty:

Many of those guys don't even qualify as "underground". Your friend doesn't even understand the terms he's using to talk about this shit.

Apparently he's pop hip hop.

And he's "lucky because Dre picked him up" and "not that great of a rapper".

btw, every member of Wu-Tang is 100x better than the untalented Eminem.

I think he's just an In real life version of LilWayne4Life, dude. He's saying stupid things on purpose to rile you up. That is the only explanation that both of these people would say shit like this.

Well I cant say I blame your buddy for turning his back on the mainstream, thats something I pretty much did years ago. In general it is a kids world out there on the radio, and I guess I just outgrew it. But you still have to keep your ear to the streets, as well as the underground because you never really know what might catch your attention. Even though 99% of mainstream music is garbage to me, I still dont count out any possible hope. When it comes to mainstream rap, Eminem and Game are my only interests really.

well I understand 100% what your talking about because one of my really good homies is the same way. He will not listen to mainstream artists with the acception of Jay-Z, Busta, Nas and a couple others.

He's one of those guys who rocks with Wu Tang and knows every song they've produced over the years, but he will not admit to me that Eminem is legit. The only thing that he will admit is that Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP are 2 very good albums. In his eyes Infinite is BY FAR eminems best work, and only the "Infinite Eminem" is a lyrical genius. He even claims that TES is a shitty album :o

He thinks that Eminem is just a gimmick...and its difficult for me cuz its not like I can show him a song like "If I get locked up tonight" and just change his opinion, because he has actually heard like every fuckin song lol...and i do truly value his opinion because he knows so much about hip hop its kinda rediculous

everyone has their own opinion i guess
